Stone Sealant 101
Most surfaces materials are porous. Some very dense stones such granite are oftenthought to be impervious to liquids, but leaving a tablespoon of oil on a granite benchtop or
paver for a couple of hours will amost certainly leave a very deep oil stain. The oil is literally
sucked into the material through millions of microscopic pores or capillaries. The right sealer
will create a water and oil-repellent barrier deep within the stone, which will solve this
problem and make it easier to clean and maintain the surface.
Many of today's better known penetrating sealers (impregnating sealers) are made from
flouro-carbons, flouro-Teflon or acrylic polymers. They work quite well for temporary stain
protection, but their large molecules do not penetrate well or bond strongly and generally
lose their effectiveness in 6 months to 2 years with regular wear and cleaning.
Our sealers have a much smaller molecue.

With a recommended maintenance program we provide you with a warranty for 15 yrs.
Our GREEN sealer is also LEED approved as a green sealer.
